Our challenge was to build a dream digital notebook app for the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s education department that could be used in any place, any time – from out in the tide pools to back in the classroom. INK helps young scientists own their work, collaborate with classmates, and exercise their creativity as they advocate for conservation of the ocean.

Often called the “Juilliard of the West,” Colburn is a prestigious performing arts school with students of all ages and skill levels in programs ranging from conducting to tap to jazz to chamber music. My UX and web design challenge was to articulate each of the school’s four distinct units and their many offerings to new and returning students while maintaining a cohesive institutional brand identity.
